Low dose immunotherapy or LDA is an extremely low dose (homeopathic) treatment that uses broad based mixtures of allergens- inhalants, foods, chemicals, bacteria, woods- made immunologically active with an enzyme Beta glucoronidase. This affects dendritic cells in the skin which signals the thymus via lymph to produce T regulator cells which address the inappropriate response to allergens.
This inappropriate response may be in the form of allergy or autoimmunity. It is not usually important to know what antigen, chemical, food or inhalant you are reacting to.
Conditions that may be treated with LDA include:
Many patients will have beneficial effects in 1-3 injections but lasting effects may not be seen until 6-8 injections. Benefits will usually last longer between treatments as more treatments have been completed. Injections are completed every 2 months.
It is important that preparation is done prior to each treatment in order to avoid sensitizing yourself to your diet or various allergens.
